Pak CAA proposes to upgrade Peshawar airport

-

Posted on: Friday, September 26, 2008 ; 06:12 IST
Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) proposes to upgrade and expand the capacity of Peshawar International Airport, in the north west frontier region of the country, to meet the increase in air-traffic requirements.

Almost 95 percent strength of the existing air traffic load at the Peshawar International Port is foreign bound, according to official sources.

Apart from this, quite a good number of foreign bound passengers, hailing from this region of Pakistan, have to travel long distances to take the flights, because of lack of facilities.

A number of new airlines have also expressed willingness to start their services from Peshawar International Airport.
