Posted on: Thursday, August 21, 2008 ; 05:45 IST
The Pakistan government has approved a special grant of INR180 million from its Export Development Fund (EDF) for early establishment of an international standard cargo terminal at the Sialkot International Airport (SIAL).

The construction work on this advanced cargo terminal is expected to start shortly.

New and modern export-oriented industries will be set up around the Sialkot airport in active collaboration with some leading businessmen from China and Japan, which will boost Sialkot's exports and socio-economic development.

There is vast scope for establishing export-oriented industries in this region, according to industrial sources.
